£4070 raised for The Brooke

The 2017 WVS Charity Ball raised an incredible £4070 for The Brooke.

One hundred and ten WVS members, friends and family gathered at Woodlands Park Hotel, Cobham on Saturday 11th March.

This was the first time the event was held at this venue and we were really impressed. The food was fantastic, the service was outstanding and we would like to say a big thank you to Jeff and his team for looking after us so well!

Extraordinary close up magic was supplied by Magic Marco who wowed guests throughout the reception and dinner. We were delighted to be joined by Petra Ingram, the Chief Executive who gave us all a insight into the wonderful work of the charity and then after dinner the presentation was made of the Vivian Colyer dressage trophy. A record 23 riders took part in the competition this year with the top 5 being separated by only 4% and the worthy winner was Kirsten on Dan.

The raffle was followed by dancing to the amazing live band Animal House and when they finished the dance floor was taken over by the Silent Disco which was tremendous fun.

So many people stayed at the hotel that the next morning seemed almost like a continuation of the party but the atmosphere was a little gentler and we did notice a few sore heads!

We would like to a heartfelt thank our very generous sponsors and all to the businesses and individuals who donated raffle prizes – without your help it would not have been possible to have raised this fantastic amount for the Brooke.

We’ve already booked the venue for next year – so save the date – 3rd March 2018!
